A Dream

We have several goals at For The Love Of Bears, but our Big Hairy Audacious Goal is to own lodges and conservation land in key locations where individuals can have a transformational encounter with wild bears.

We firmly believe that once a person experiences wild bears in their natural habitat a bond is formed; and with cultivation that bond can lead to individuals who passionately advocate and care for bears. A major part of our five-year plan is to provide ways for individuals to have transformational experiences in safe and responsible ways.

Imagine a place where kids, donors, community leaders, artists, and others can come and experience wild bears, complete with guides and staff who are truly experts in the lives of bears.

  • A place where photographers and other artists can come to make compelling works of art that brings that positive encounter with bears to the world.

  • A place where local school children can have an encounter which frames the way they think about bears forever.

  • A place where donors who are passionate about bears can have their spirits rejuvenated.

  • A place where key stakeholders and community leaders who are about to decide on issues of life and death for bears can come and see the place they have only read about.

  • A place that works with indigenous people, learning from their traditions and culture to support wild bears.

  • A place where bears are safe and respected by all who set foot in their home.

  • A place where patterns of harassment and hunting can be broken and replaced with admiration.

We know it’s a big goal, but we can see the day when our goal might be reality, maybe you can help.
