Dave Shumway

Co-founder and Chairman of the Board
Dave is a photographer, vice president of advancement for Volunteers of America, and has spent the past decade teaching as an adjunct professor at Rocky Mountain College. Dave is based in Sheridan, WY. He is passionate about all things bears, and that lead him to found ‘For the Love of Bears’ with his good friend Kate Rice in 2020.

Kate is an award-winning nature photographer and biologist. Kate’s love of bears began after her first close-up encounter with a Grizzly in Yellowstone National Park during a honeymoon road-trip, which dramatically changed her life. Kate and her husband are now van-lifers who own and operate KAR Photography, and live full-time on the road seeking encounters with wildlife all over North America.

Pursuing a lifelong passion for photography and film, Andrew founded Grizzly Peak Group, a successful media and marketing company based in Missoula, MT. When not serving as CEO, you can find him filming wildlife, recreating outdoors, and furthering his aviation experience. Conservation of bears and their habitat is continually motivated each time he experiences them in wild places

Adam Rice

Board Secretary
Adam is an award-winning photographer, owner, and lead guide for KAR Safaris. His passion for wildlife and photography led him to quit his career in aerospace so he could spend his time helping others have amazing personal experiences with wildlife. Adam's favorite species to photograph (like the rest of the board) is bears, and he makes sure to leave time in his busy schedule for personal trips to Alaska, Yellowstone, and the western U.S.

Sean Sharp

Board Member
With over two decades experience as a wildlife photographer and guide, Sean also adds 15 years of experience as a creative and executive leadership professional within the marketing world. As founder of Sharp Wildlife Photography, Sean’s passion for bears is contagious, as is his motivation to guide photographers and animal-lovers alike to safely experience the beauty of wildlife around the globe - and to help protect the places they call home.

Lauren McGeough

Jackson Hole Advisory Board
Lauren is an aspiring conservationist based in the Tetons. A clinical research manager by day, Lauren spends as much free time as possible traveling and experiencing nature. As an avid diver, for years Lauren worked to improve oceans and the creatures that habituate in it. After moving from the San Diego coast to the mountains of Tahoe, Lauren focused her efforts on protecting the wildlife that she shared her backyard with, primarily black bears. Now based in the Tetons, her focus is to help build community efforts in protecting the beautiful grizzlies and wildlife in the Teton region through human education and involvement.

Tiffany is freelance assistant photographer based in Jackson Hole, WY. A former management consultant, she has lived and worked around the world, including the United Kingdom, Japan, and Australia. She is a passionate animal advocate and has been fighting for animal welfare for the past thirty years.
